CIRCLE OF COMPASSION is a humane education program which invites individuals to explore their deepest beliefs about themselves, others, and the planet as they develop practical strategies to put their principles into action.

Through respectful discussion and lively critical thinking activities, participants examine their own attitudes and actions towards others with whom they share the planet. The process of self-reflection and questioning is encouraged and valued. Respect for self and others are essential components of each presentation. Always positive and hopeful, Circle of Compassion addresses fundamental questions of what it means to lead a life that is a daily affirmation of peace and compassion.

HUMANE EDUCATION

  • Challenges the cycle of violence at its core.

  • Does not confine itself to a single issue, but rather addresses violence and oppression in all forms.

  • Values self-discovery and critical thinking.

  • Seeks practical solutions by encouraging individuals to define their own values and live by them.

  • Develops self-esteem and the leadership skills necessary to put compassion into action

“Our task must be to free ourselves
by widening our circle of compassion
to embrace all living creatures
and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

Dr. Albert Einstein

Presentations are offered free of charge thanks to a generous grant from the Komie Foundation through the International Institute for Humane Education.
